Weeks 38 & 39

Week 38 consisted of me having a preventative check-up on my car (cause Civy deserved it!) and resulted me spending mega bucks on getting my front breaks fixed *sigh* Definitely the costliest week of this journal :(

I accomplished a very hard goal in week 39, and got my docks out of the water (2 of them) and tied (the other 2). My arms are just killing me after the lifting and lugging, and I have huge bites on both of my legs (likely spiders). Having said all that, I'm so happy to get it done. It's the one really hard job associated with closing my cottage.

Week 37 - Insured!

So it took me longer than a week to get in place, but my cottage is now officially insured. Now I can rest easier, as it was a worry for me when I didn't have all the forms (and there were tonnes) and pictures (5 required) that needed to be submitted.

Anyway, week 38 is all about getting my car fixed and bringing it at a frisbee tourney in the states....and I'm half way there already!

Week 36 - The Cottage is Operational!

After doing some pre-shopping at Ikea Thursday night, and taking Friday off work, I picked up a rental cube van early Friday morning and got a table and chairs set and bed at Ikea before heading out to the cottage. After emptying the cube van, and throwing in a double mattress the previous owners left, I headed back to Ottawa while my parents cleaned and assembled furniture. By the time 9pm rolled around, the cottage was clean, and my bed was assembled and ready to be passed out on.

A big thanks to my parents, Scott, and Janice for helping me get the cottage in tip top shape. Now I can enjoy it the rest of the fall, at least when I'm feeling better.
